Scholarship Information

The Auburn Alumni Association sponsors two types of student scholarships, either through an Auburn Club, like ours, or through an endowment for children of life members of the Association.

Auburn Club

As an Auburn Club, we have established a scholarship through Auburn University to reward deserving students in our area. Most of our fund-raisers are for this scholarship and we hope to increase our giving to this local scholarship every year. Please remember, that your support of our club’s activities can assist future Auburn Tigers in their quest to call the Plains their home. All donations, from $5 to $5000 help us reach our goal and go directly to the Auburn University Foundation with a designation to our local scholarship fund.

See one of our club officers for further details on supporting our local scholarship or contact Tanja Matthews at the Alumni Association 334.844.1113 or tanja.matthews@auburn.edu.

Alumni Scholars

The funds for these scholarships come from the interest earned on the Auburn Alumni Association’s $1 million gift which established a scholarship endowment during Auburn’s last capital campaign. The recipients are selected by the University Scholarship Office and there is no application required. To be eligible for consideration for this scholarship a student must:

  • be a child of an alumnus of Auburn, parent or guardian;
  • have a parent or guardian who is a lifetime member of Auburn Alumni Association;
  • be an incoming first-year student (to include transfer students) who has achieved academic excellence (including having a 3.0 GPA and have scored at least a 29 on the ACT).

Each scholarship is for one academic year.

To join the Auburn Alumni Association as a life member or to make a donation to the Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship, please pick up forms at our table or contact the Association directly or on the web at www.aualum.org .

Thank you and WAR EAGLE!

GIVING TO YOUR LOCAL CLUB SCHOLARSHIP

Contributing to the Scholarship Fund

The Auburn Club strongly encourages members and guests to contribute to the Annual Scholarship fund. Whether your contribution is $1,000 or $15, every penny counts. These contributions will be used to reward talented and promising students in the local area with scholarship opportunities. As a donor, you play a role in preserving the Auburn Spirit for generations to come.

By following the steps below, your donation can be tax-deductible.

How to contribute by check

A gift check is the easiest way of giving to Auburn. Simply make your check payable to the Auburn University Foundation and mail it to the Scholarship Coordinator, Auburn Alumni Association, 317 S College St, Auburn University, AL, 36849. Note: In the memo portion of the check, write: YOUR Area Auburn Club scholarship (i.e. Marshall County Auburn Club annual scholarship). This directs your gift to be recorded and receipted promptly on behalf of the YOUR Auburn Club. Without designation, your gift will be recorded for the area of greatest need as determined by the University President and the Foundation Board of Directors.

How to contribute online by credit card

Go to the Alumni website at www.aualum.org and simply click on "Scholarship" on the top of the web page. This will direct you to the scholarship page where you can then click on 'Give Online Now' on the left column. This will take you to the ‘Giving to Auburn’ site where you will select gift and choose to continue. IMPORTANT: Under 'Gift Designation', Do NOT choose a University Program unless you are giving to the Alumni Association Endowed Scholarships. Instead in the box where it reads "Note other gift area here", type YOUR Area Auburn Club scholarship (i.e. Tampa Bay Auburn Club endowed scholarship). This directs your gift to be recorded and receipted promptly on behalf of YOUR Area Auburn Club. Without designation, your gift will be recorded as for the area of greatest need as determined by the University President and the Foundation Board of Directors.

Corporate Matching Gifts

Many corporations participate in matching the gifts of their employees. Some even double or triple each dollar contributed. Your company's human resource department can provide details and the matching gift form to include with your gift check.
